| | So, last week was my birthday, and today I got a great package in the mail. Alanna sent me "A River Runs Through It" both a book with beautiful woodcut illustrations, and a deluxe edition DVD, which I have wanted for many years, but never bought. also, a book called men and fire, about smokejumpers in montana and a specific fire, the Mann Gulch Fire. as well, a heinously bright paisley shirt, its very cool, and very bright. and a t-shirt that says, " I know superwoman, she's my cousin" and its true. I do. she is.
Also, we all are celebrating the resurrecting, eating lots of meat (Farmer Sausage, thank you brother Gabraham-the real saskatchewan deal) and sampling fine ales and malt beverages. the sun is shining too.
I have applied for a job in Victoria, a government position entitled "applied leadership" who knew all the opportunities at TWU might pay off in the end? It is a liason position between a ministry and aboriginal groups around the province, helping them to take over the implementation of children and family services. So that would amazing. Except I would have to leave Langley and my sweet sweet community at St. Herman's.
OH! and my rad sister got her and I tickets for Arcade Fire at Deer Lake Park! SO excited!
